Icebreakers activities
Icebreakers activities are simple activities that enable teachers to get to know their studnets and students to get to know their teacher as well as other students. Most of the activities are short, fun and require little or no organization. Icebreakers are really useful for the first days of school.
Los Icebreakers son actividades que son simples y que permiten al profesor conocer a sus alumnos y a su vez que los alumnos conozcan mejor al docente y , al mismo tiempo, que los propios alumnos se conozcan entre sí. De ahí, el nombre de Icebreakers...son actividades o juegos que sirven para romper el hielo. Éstas actividades son muy útiles para los primeros días de clase además requieren de muy poca organización y son divertidas, a la vez de tener una corta duración.

BALL'S GAME
Materials: Plastic ball
Age: all
Skill: listening and speaking and reading.
We have a plastic ball and we write on it different personal questions that we want our students to practise such as: Whats your name?, How old are you? What's your favourite sport? Do you have any brothers or sisters?...
We can increase the difficulty according to their age.
One student thriws the ball to another one and makes a question. The student who caches the ball has to answer the question and the other way round.

The teacher can write possible questions on the balckboard or can write questions on the ball.
For students who do not read, the teacher can be the one to make the questions and be the first to throw the ball.
This activity can be done with older students. In that case, to increase difficulty they can make up possible questions.
It is a really fun game and pupils really like it!
Materiales: Pelota de plástico
Edad: todos
Escribimos diferentes preguntas en la pelota de plástico como: Whats your name? How old are you? What' s your favourite Sport? Podemos incrementar la dificultad de las preguntas según la edad.
Un alumno lanza la pelota a otro mientras le hace una pregunta y el otro le contesta. El profesor puede escribir las posibles preguntas en la pizarra también.
Si los alumnos no saben leer podemos hacer lo mismo pero ,en este caso, es el profesor el que hace las preguntas y lanza la pelota a los estudiantes.
Con estudiantes mayores podemos pedirles que inventen sus propias preguntas.
Esta actividad es muy divertida, los alumnos se lo pasan muy bien.

M &M'S GAME
Materials: M & M' s and coloured markers and a blackboard.
Age: all ( if they are able to read)Skill: listening and speaking and reading.
The teachr writes several sentences in different colours ( colours have to do with the M & M' s) . Each student chooses a question or sentence and they get a coloured
M & M' s. If the student chooses to answer a yellow question, he or she gets a yellow
M & M' and so on.
With these activity students get to know to each other.
Materiales: M & M' s y rotuladores de diferentes colores.
Edad: Todos ( si saben leer)
El profesor escribe diferentes preguntas en varios colores ( los colores de los M & M' s ). Cada alumno elige una pregunta o frase y reciben un M & M de un color determinado según la pregunta que hayan escogido. Con esta actividad los alumnos se conocen entre sí.
